A frequent measurement for advertising reach is the cost per thousand of audience or CPM/Cost per Mille. Audience can be radio listeners, Web users or Web site hits for an example. Calculating CPM is not complicated, but it involves tedious calculations.

This tool is a convenience tool to calculate CPM and Cost per Unit. Only two variables are necessary to perform calculations, the total cost of advertising and the audiences reach which can be volume of Web users, listeners or Web views. The tool calculates CPM and adds the results to the datagrid.

You can add as many calculations as you wish. Rows in the datagrid are sortable by clicking on column names. You can tag each row to help keep track of calculations. You can also convert the datagrid to other data formats such as XML, CSV, Html table or Json JavaScript object.

Demonstration data:

Web site owner is going to advertise his/her new Web site and is willing to pay up to 500 USD to start the ball rolling. He/she got offer from three publishers.

  • Publisher A: 25000 page views for 200 USD.
  • Publisher B: 30000 page views for 150 USD.
  • Publisher C: 50000 page views for 350 USD.
  • Which offer is the best when compared using CPM?

Tip! You can format numbers in the datagrid by checking the Separator checkbox and choose from two formats in the drop-down menu that appears.
